        Harris put both hands on Dietrich's shoulders. "Nothing would happen. Especially not this," he whispered, leaning ever-so-slightly forward.

        In which Harris and Dietrich, who are not getting along, have to go undercover in a gay bar.
        "Why did we ever--" Harris caught himself and started over. "Why aren't we... Arthur, why are we 'off' and not 'on'?"

        Dietrich knew what that stumbling sincerity had cost Harris, and chose to respect it with an honest guess. "Because we can't stand each other?"

          A missing scene set just after the Battle of the Hornburg.

          A missing scene set just after the Battle of the Pelennor Fields; a sequel to "After Helm's Deep."

          One of Gimli's lines was inspired by a passage from Virgil's Aeneid:

          Nisus said, "Do the gods place this fire in my soul,

          My response to a challenge issued by PEJA, listmom of JohnnyLovesRoy (and many other lists)!

        • Captain Cap
          This was one of the 10 Bizarre Emergency! Plots suggested by a friend of the Fairy Queen--I was so enchanted with the premise that I went ahead and wrote a story around it!
          The original description reads:
          4) Cap becomes hero of the hour after saving the President's life. Fame goes to his head and he quits his job, buys an impossibly tight spandex outfit, and becomes "Captain Cap, Super Hero".


        • Bambi, Kitten, Rainbow, and the Turkey
          Another "challenge" story: this time the mission, should one choose to accept it, was to write a story that incorporated a frozen turkey, a feather duster, a silk scarf, and handcuffs. How could I possibly turn it down?

        • Modus Moriendi
          A brief alternate-universe piece based on an infamous scene from "Emergency's Greatest Rescues;" a death scene that insisted on being written despite the author's reluctance.

        Johnny/Roy

        • Anniversary
          Not part of the Johnny/Chet universe above, this is a serious story about Johnny and Roy.

        • Not the Same Old Thing
          A story in a universe of its own! I was inspired to write this after a friend plaintively lamented the dearth of Brice slash.
