"What. Is. That. THING?"

"It's a ring," Glitch said, as if that were obvious.

"Rings go on fingers. And ears. That is neither!" Cain shuddered. "Does this have anything to do with the zipper?"

"With the zipper?" Glitch was bewildered. "No, I had it before. It was a gift from a grateful Grand Duchess for services rendered."

"What kind of--wait, I don't want to know." Cain suddenly turned pink. "But I would like to know ... "

"Hm?"

"Does it ... um ... "

"Oh, just spit it out, Cain."

"... scrape? Your partner? On the inside?"

"One way to find out."
