"Hush!" said Cain suddenly.

"What? Why?" asked Glitch, pouting. "I always sing opera during sex."

"There's a guard due to patrol this hallway in …" Cain squinted at a clock on the nightstand,"… five minutes. You don't want him to come investigate, do you?"

"I suppose not," Glitch said. "We'll have to wait till he goes past."

Long minutes ticked by. It was cold; Cain picked the blankets up from the floor and covered both of them. The guard's footsteps approached and receded.

"Where were we?" asked Cain.

"Jinjur, Act Two, Scene Three. Mombi's aria! Tra la LA!" Glitch pounced.
