• "Bright Lights, Big Kitty" by Erika Frensley. Southern Lights 6, 1993. Hilarious crossover with Night Court and Beauty & the Beast, featuring Levitt and Mr. Kopechne.
• "Murder Most Faire" by Sue MacDonald. Chinook 6, 2006. The Stargate SG-1 team visits a Renaissance Faire, with brief appearances from Benson (of Benson) and Harris from Barney Miller.
• "Diplomatic Immunity" by Susan MacDonald. Of Dreams and Schemes 22, 2007. The detectives capture a criminal whom they cannot hold. Meanwhile a subplot crosses over with The Incredible Hulk.

• Immortals at the Old 1-2 and Blackout by Rob Morris.
  Humorous crossover stories with Highlander and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.
• A Voice in the Dark by thunderian settiai. A touching missing scene from the aired episode "The Tunnel," describing Wojo's thoughts when he is trapped in the cave-in. (Also available in the Yahoo Group files section.)
• Blackout Night by Angilbas. Law & Order crossover in the online fanzine Apocrypha; offers an interesting perspective on Lennie Brisco's pre-sobriety days, told from Harris's point of view.
• If you join the Barney Miller Yahoo Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BarneyMiller/, there are several stories in the Files area, including Bright Lights, Big Kitty and A Voice in the Dark. There is also a very enjoyable work-in-progress entitled "Reunion"; once complete, it will have the distinction of being the only full-length Barney Miller story that is not a crossover!
